Trying to understand my city's ordinances...

I personally would just get em, I would build a nice big tractor, and get quiet hens, in a small enough number that I can manage....nowhere did I find a limit like a lot of cities have on dogs, cats or any other "domesticated" breed. All I would worry about are the noise ordinances and allowing animals to run free.

Just get them. If you call the city, it will depend on who you talk to as to what kind of answer you will get. You can call back the next day, talk to someone else and they'll give you a different answer. Ordinances are almost always open to 'interpretation'. And each person who reads it will interpret it differently because your city's ordinances are very non-specific.
If you want to make sure you are legal, I would check your property's zoning first and go from there.
