Notice

International
health certificates for the export of animals from the United States are completed by the accredited veterinarian who certifies herd and animal health status, conducts tests, and records test results for the individual animals being exported. Completed and signed international health certificates for the export of animals from the United States must be endorsed by a Veterinary Services area office in order to be valid.

The United States has minimal requirements for animals to be exported to other countries. Your Area Veterinarian-in-Charge can provide you with the current regulations, tests, and inspections required. Approved ports of embarkation and shipping requirements can be found in 9 CFR 91. Each country may have other specific health requirements for entry of animals. These requirements are established by the importing country, not the United States. Other countries may also have their own certificate format for export. Since export requirements frequently change, obtain the current export requirements from the Veterinary Service office in your area before each shipment. Do not rely solely on information provided by brokers and exporters. Export certificates are official documents and they should be typewritten, accurate, and complete.

Yes, I'm back Sorry It took so long.
This is what happened:
6 Eggs traveled by hand. They were wrapped inside in a custom croceted "basket" for each egs so it could clearly be seen it was an egg and removed from this if they wished. These were in a 6-round clear carton labled "Hatching Eggs".
the carrier had all the nesc paperwork and made it thorugh TSA without a hitch - except for a little aditional time.
When the carrier got to Greece, Well that's another story.
Greek TSA wanted to know, if they were not to be X-Rayed, then why didn't the paperwork say so.
There were "many " people" and I was told all eggs were out of the packaging at the same time being inspected by and agent. He said he saw 1 shake an egg and told her to stop.
I guess they don't have explosive testing cloths at the greek airport or some one smart enough to think to use it.

My cousin's incubator in greece failed. There were many eggs in there other than those I sent. The only egg to hatch fully was that little roo. Others had pipped. Then my father called and had to be rushed to the hospital by my cousin. When he returned 2 days later, only the 1 was out of his shell and OK.
There was 1 successful hatch - a Blue Wheaton Ameraucana rooster now lives in Mykonos Greece.

Hi All,
I have been reading from this website regarding traveling with eggs and the information from here helped me a lot in planning my journey and success with hatching eggs. So i thought I should share my experience here so that it would be helpful for someone.

I was planning to travel to India via dubai and wanted to take quail eggs with me. Bought 75 giant bobwhite eggs from ebay (a good seller) and it reached one day before i was flying . Kept the eggs in cold room for a day and never opened the package. Then i wrapped it with aluminium foil and kept in a big strong suitcase and checked in at the airport. After 14 hours of flight, i reached Dubai and went straight to a friend's house and kept it in his room with A/C running. After 3 days took the eggs, traveled another 4 hours to India.
Went straight to the hatchery from airport and the eggs were kept in the incubator after it reached room temperature (eggs were bit cold in the package). So the eggs went through multiple X-rays (4 i guess) and enough stress. After 18 days , there was no sign of hatching. Today it's 22nd day and I was about to give up hope and tell my friends that IT DIDN'T WORK, i got a call from home saying that 40 out of 75 eggs hatched.
