That is why I refuse to fly. I cannot stand to be touched by people I do not know. If I can't get there by train or car, I don't go.

Its not any safer nor is it a small price.
It has a dual purpose, makes us feel safer and deters potential terrorism. It does in a way make flying safer but shifts the terrorist attacks to another area of our life. Killing terrorist is what makes us safer ultimately not reasoning with them.

What is deterring is that no one would stand by an let a hijacking happen after 9/11. The passengers are the deterrent not the TSA. The only way to repeat 9/11 is fill the plane with your people or rent an private plane.

TSA is a serous attack on the 4th amendment an has no real up side.
