TSC Bantams at almost 2 weeks

Can't help you there, but mine were yellow(er) when young. They are now a nice slate color. They are small chickens compared to standards, I can see where they would be in the bantam bin.

They both stared out more yellow - just one is already a noticeable blue/green color and the other is still more yellow... I was looking at the 8 or 12 week pic and the roo has lighter more yellow legs - so here's to hoping, LOL.

You're right, that chick is a Mottled Houdan. Also, on the d'Uccles, you can tell when they are chicks if they are bearded or not. I think that some can be non-bearded. Or, they could be Booted Bantams, which look similar, but aren't bearded. In your picture, the one on the right looks like it might have a little muff going on under there.

Holy chicken batman!! A Houdan!?!?!

Is there a way to sex the d'Unccles? Or is it wait and see when they feather out?

My d'Uccles are 3 weeks old now and the little roos are just starting to get bigger combs that have a tinge of red to them. The girls combs are closer to the head and no pink/red.

I can't believe that all of you find the variety bantams at TSC!! All we get are your regular run of the mill Comets, RSL, and Black Austrolorps. Lucky, lucky, you!
