I asked the guy at tractor supply 'so what do you think these are?'
'The red ones are RIR and the lighter ones are brahmas'

Just to see if he knew what he was really talking about and for a little entertainment purposes I asked...
'So these red ones are always RIRs? Never sex links or anything?'
'Nope. Now do you want to make sex links'
'No, Im asking if these are sex links..'
'No, they are always RIRs.'

Well Im still left a little doubtful...

I got 3 out of the red bin that all look the same:

and 3 out of the other bin that all look the same:

What did I really get?

I don't know about the red ones, but the others aren't Brahmas if they all look like the one in the picture. Brahmas should have feathered legs and feet.

Those look very light for RIR. Is that white I see coming through the feathers? If so they could be Sex-Links. If they are getting brown, they could be New Hampshires.

The whites are not light Brahmas (Brahmas have feathered feet) Are they solid white? If so they are probably white Rocks.

Tried better pictures outside

I'm curious as to see what yours turn out to be too, I got reddish ones out of the bin and yellow ones. The bin said "amber" on the side. The white ones, however, I am afraid are some breed of meat chickens because they're growing like weeds, they're chubbers, and they attack the food dish whenever I refill it.

The first picture doesn't look like any the RIR's that I have. It does look EXACTLY like my golden comets which are a red sex-link chicken.

Quote:
I purchased 2 brown sexlinks and 2 gold sexlinks out of my 8, very similar markings to the red, in my research I did see there are red sexlinks as well.
I purchased from a smaller mom and pop feed store, TSC usually doesnt carry RiR though you can order. I looked at their pamphlet.

Interesting...

Ya. I figured they werent going to be RIRs even though they "always are"

Is the older girl a silkie x sussex?

The older one looks like a rooster. With that tail, and those colors, even looks like he has got some pointy saddle, and hackle feathers going. Looks like a mixed Game Bantam X Silkie.

Here is a female Old English Game X Buff Silkie I hatched out last spring. See the tail difference. All of her brothers (sadly no picture) very bright and blotchey fellows. (2 lemon Blues, 1 buff with red yellow all over him) All the females were calm colors.
