TSC duckling I.D. help please. I have 3 of the black ones that im hoping are cayugas. I have no idea on the silvery/gray and yellow one.

I don't know that I've ever seen ducklings quite like the last one.

I've seen a couple of those at farm stores this year. I wanted to get one to see what it would turn out like, but it was at a farm store with really gross looking chicks and I wasn't willing to risk bringing anything nasty to my flock. I'm still curious though...

It’s a female golden 300 or golden cascade. Essentially they’re like red star chicken.

Thanks. Do you have a vote on the black? Im thinking cayuga or dark cambell. The only other I can find that the color matches is black runner. Im 99% sure they aren't runners.

Looks like it has the blue fawn or pastel color type
...Blue fawn is one copy of the blue dilution on wild type color
and Pastel is two copies of blue dilution on wild type color

Are there any lighter areas on it? In my VERY limited experience, Cayuga seem to have lighter brown chests - not a defined spot, just slightly lighter.

Runners are usually easy to spot. Even though their bodies are similar to other breeds when that little, their faces are different. Their Bill's turn down more, and their faces are narrower.

Maybe slightly lighter when the light hits it. It may be wishful thinking but they seem to look more like the cayuga pics than the dark cambell. But I'll be happy with either.

That’s what I thought. Looks too dark for saxony and too light for mallard??

I’m a VERY new duck keeper. My babies just turned 8 weeks! But, if I had to guess, I would say they’re too dark to be dark campbells. I would lean toward your guess on them being Cayugas, or perhaps Runners. Lucky Ducky! My husband wants a Cayuga, but our TSC hasn’t had any.
