I picked up 8 more chicks last week at TSC, and they sold out that same day.

Well I lost 2 and would like to replace them. SURELY I wouldn't have to buy 6 more since I've already bought 8? I have my receipt and they can look it up by my phone number, too. You think I could just buy 2? (or do I have the willpower to only buy 2

Tried that and had to get 6...not that i am complaining. They are just feeding my addiction!!!!

I tried the same thing. Wanted to just get a couple and had bought 6 the day before. Even had the same staff who knows me on site since I am there allllll the time. They still said I had to buy 6.

I didn't buy any. 8 is one thing....12? no thanks!

They are the only place I've seen that makes you buy 6 at a time. Our TSC sold most of their stuff very quickly also.

our TSC will replace the dead ones..within a reasonable amount of time of course

i split mine with the clerk, she didn't want 6 to add to her flock, and neither did I, so we went halves... that gives me a total of 10 checks...and i'd love to have more- but not an option right now

Should I get mine from Tsc or a hatchery? The reason I ask is Tsc has one of the breeds I want I'm going to have a flock of 18 including white leghorns (at Tsc), bantam RIR, and bantam Easter egger. Only reason I question it is because I don't want many males if any at all, so I dunno if I should get any there or not! Any help?

TSC can be a good and bad. Sometimes, (my story) you go to get 3 red pullets and come home with 9 red pullets. Which actually was 9 straight run light brahamas.. 7 boys in that bunch. UGH. So they can be misinforming to people. And with those breeds, you most likely won't get all those breeds in pullets at once. Depending how many you want, you should get from a hatachery.
