TULSA area Cluckers

Went to the Tulsa State Fair on Friday, had a great time as usual! It was the first time we have ever visited the animal buildings, and I have to say although I was intimidated at the thought of showing our chickens, I was emboldened by the lack of good quality Ameraucanas and total lack of French Black Copper Marans, so maybe we will work towards entering next year! I was really shocked at the Ameraucanas because most of them were obviously EEs, one even had a brown egg in her crate.

We bought some chickens a week ago but have decided we will probably not be keeping them, an adult splash/blue EE pair (sold to us as coming from Ameraucana stock but having obvious EE traits after we got them). Laying age but the hen hasn't settled down from the move to lay for us yet. Can post pics if anyone is interested, $30 for the pair. Not available until at least Wednesday, that's when our quarantine period is up (HA we are strict on that after our last problems).

Hope everyone got some rain today!

ETA: Got the roof on the cowboy coop last week, and figured out a feeding system today! Also started on egg access holes for the next boxes, but ran out of juice in the drill at the last minute (of course!). Just waiting on chicken nipples coming in the mail to set up a water system.

Rinda-do you still have some honey? If someone were interested in going into the bee business how would someone go about that? Not sure I really want to but just curious.
