Turkey acting strange ((updated with pictures))

Crystal, I can't tell from the pics which one is injured.
The top images look like a hen to me. The tom with his wings spread is just showing off doing the mating ritual dance.

Also, dlhunicorn, my understanding is that problems with turkey legs are with the commercial breeds that are inbred to grow excessively fast (Broad Breasted Whites) and are not inherently problematic to heritage breeds such as Royal Palms.

the top three are the same turkey, we thought it was an older hen (thus bigger and redder in the neck.) but were just not sure no eggs from her yet. I keep hoping to go into the isolation pen and find an egg. The bottom one is the two I know are toms both gobble. I have started letting them free range a bit more and its helped considerably with the sparring. Crystal

Yes, I was confused about who was what (reviewed your posts and then focused on the legs). Is there a marked difference in the size of the ankles between this (three shots) and the other hen? It looks as if there is some swelling, but it is hard to make out. Is she walking now???

Had she been flying around? Ours used to take the occasional bad landing.

on the right kneee theres a pretty big sized gash. been treating it with antiseptic, its still limping, not jumping or flying at all. I let it out yesterday to be with its mates while they free ranged and it didn't want to go back in. A few more days and I'll let it out again. Crystal

Crystal.
If the bird with the injury is the one in the first pic, its definately a hen! The squating is normal this time of year with hens. The sores could be from the tom mateing with her on a rough surface...rocks, concrete. A little aspirin in her water for the pain and swelling would help alot...and clean the wound well, add neosporin to the area. She sure is a pretty thing. My RP hen will never lay again.

She lost her female organs a few weeks ago. Just fell out. I do have a blue slate hen, and a bronze hen...and a RP tom. guess those babies will be interesting to see...IF they hatch. Good luck with her...hope she recovers fast.

Oh deb how awful!!!! I guess I need to lay some hey down in the hoop house. alot of designer turkeys are cross between breeds.C
