Turkey breeding

Cool, gotta work on getting that, may take a couple years though

. And my bourbon red is a female I think, still kinda young though.

So if my order comes in from porters all right next spring then those and the two I have now will be the ones I'll work with for breeding:

Bourbon Red (have 1 female currently)
Royal Palm (have 1 female currently)
Auburn (ordered 5)
Sweetgrass (4)
Self Blue (3)
Lilac (3)

Should have gotten Self Buff also but didn't know their genotype when I placed the order

I think I'll try to get Chocolate Lavender Sweetgrass (b1b1 cgcg DD ee) might take a while but it'll be cool if I do manage to get it.

I thought of a hybrid turkey that might be profitable( not pretty at all!) It's a broad breasted white cross with midget white! Hopefully the crosses will be broad breasted smaller size, yet larger than a midget white and reproduce and be good foragers! I'm still going to stick with whiskey brown tho: bb ee rr

Lavender Edged Bourbon Red sounds interesting

This is one, I am trying to get a better picture of it.

I have been trying to figure out what he was Mr. Porter ID'd him for me on FB. I stumbled on this thread and post with a google search. I am trying to get a better picture of him, he is camera shy. I am going to try and catch up on the thread, I hope this post is ok.

He is so pretty! It's great to know what they look like!

I have bourbon red hen, royal palm hen, chocolate tom, wild turkey tom( genotype is the same as bronze) to work with for the breed.

It is so good to know what he is. Mr Porter has identified 2 of mine now that we could not identify on "a century of turkey talk". I have a couple weird turkeys that give me like 50 different types of offspring. One is on his page and this one will be as soon as I get a good clear picture of him.
