Turkey broody for two months - desperate for a fix!

Just an update: The roosters were a success! The babies all survived (7 of them) and are happily being raised by the two hens. The hens are FINALLY up and moving around the pen again, eating, and vocalizing. So glad this worked out!

Another good thing about Chicken Chicks and not turkey babies (poults) is that they are instinctive eaters and drinkers. So they will go and find food and water even if the mom doesn't follow them.
I have had a turkey hen sitting on eggs since March (not fertile eggs to start with). Then we bought eggs and stuck them under her. Her eggs have hatched and we evicted her Monday from the nest. She looks pretty tired.
Someone else suggested removing the chicks from her because the turkey hens are not very delicate and they said they have lost poults to hens trampling them. The hens have indeed trampled 1/2 the eggs that they were sitting on, either fighting over them or moving them.
I think it is all an experience that we need to learn from, and it's different every time. Good luck!!!
