There is a number of commercial cones that have a flat sides. I think that is mostly because of how they are made. Tapered slip rolls can be hard to find and they are not cheap.
The flat side uses a bit more material, then a true cone. But unless you have a tapered slip roll. Rolling a cone is time consuming on a flat slip roll.
Looking again at your prototype, the bottom should be around 4 inches,
The height looks good.
The top looks a bit narrow.
