Hi, how tall should a turkey coop/tractor be? It will be for Bourbon Reds, so a med. size turkey breed - if they will come inside to roost. There will be 4 turkeys max, so 4 x 4 should do it, right? I may keep a trio of them over winter, so that would be about 5 sq. ft. per bird?

Thanks,
Michelle

I am seeing 2' high for their runs, but higher for where they roost. One source said that the pen only needs to be 6" higher than their heads? Guess they aren't as flappy as chickens?? I found a book that says that turkeys are more cold hardy than chickens (which is great for my situation). If you google for 'turkey sun porch', there's some information. Not too much, tho.

google search for turkey sun porch

Cheers,
Michelle

if your running turkeys in a tractor.theres no way you can have a roosting area for them.because if you did you couldnt move the tractor.but since they are pretty tall.id say 3fth for the tractor.
