Turkey coop question

I currently raise quail and will be adding turkey next late spring. Quail on one side of the house and Turkey on the other.

I've ordered 4 BB and 7 bourbon that will be shipped tentatively the last week of April so I have time to get my coop together. My plan is to build a hoop style pen in the 8 x 20 range and then either make an inside type coop at one end. I'm thinking 8 x 6, or on the end of the hoop coop or add a separate attached external coop area so the hoop part is a run. If things work out I would process the BB next November and any extra bourbon toms and house the hens and a tom over the winter. I'm hoping that I'd have 4 but that depends on then hen count.

Does this sound like a large enough coop enclosure? The goal would be to at some point add some electric poultry netting to allow some "free range" area to the run space but that's down the road plans.

Any comments and advise is appreciated.

Thanks

I have a 8x24 hoop Coop covered in clear ish tarps. The heritage turkeys prefer the trees until it's -20f. Unfortunately the owls like that also.
10sqft in coop and 100 in run per heritage bird. BB are meant to be harvested starting at 16 weeks ... Unless you want a 50 lb dressed bird. My heritage jakes dress out 10 to 12 lbs at 6 months

Heritage love to roost. My flock used to go 20+~ up onto the barn rafters every night. The meat ones (your BB) will likely unfortunately have health problems due to their purpose if you decide to keep them

oh no defiantly won't be keeping the BB. Was just wondering if I was leaving enough room for the heritage ones, maybe 4 if I get lucky to be housed over the winter and then hopefully breed in the following spring.

I had BB whites and they didn't get harvested til they were almost 9 months old and they were super tasty but way too big one dressed out at 60 lbs and the other at 45 I would not recommend raising that long then butchering I won't have that breed again

Just to bump this question. If I were to keep 4 or 5 heritage turkey in a 8 x 20 enclosure and give them some extra space with poultry netting would that be enough space? I have ordered 11 pullets but will be processing the extra in the fall but just want to make sure this would be adequate for keeping the remaining provided I end up with enough hens and 1 Tom. It could be 3 if I don't luck out with the hens.

Thanks again
