Turkey died.. I think heart attack. Should I butcher it or throw it away?

What do you think caused the puss? Do you take pics when you do the necropsys?


I think it was some some form of egg yolk peritonitis. The mass was where the eggs would have been, so I don't think it was the typical EYP. and yes, I did take pictures and will post them in the thread that I started when I found the sick hen.
 
As long as the intestines are not punctured, the insides of the bird are sterile. What happens when they sit with the guts still in them is it will change the flavor. That is the way wild pheasants are handled in Britain. They are aged with the guts still inside to change the flavor of the meat.

2 hours should be OK, It would be better if the weather were cold, but you work with what you've got.
