Turkey egg hatching

Its definitely dead. I carefully made a tiny hole then gradually made it bigger as I was more and more certain it wasn't alive, until I'd taken most of the airsack shell away. It never pipped internally, but it's beak was in the right place so I don't think it was malpositioned. I might do an eggtopsy later, depends how I feel. :(

I took it out of the shell. It was positioned perfectly and looked fully developed but the yolk sac wasn't fully absorbed and one of it's feet was deformed. Could that have stopped it from pipping? I did turn him regularly everyday 3-5 times a day from day 1 to day 24 - I've read they can have leg problems from not turning them properly, but I don't think it is that.

The membrane wasn't tough & there was a bit of moisture in there (watery not slimy and not discolored in any way) but less than half a teaspoon. No bad smells, nothing weird.

I'm thinking that my thermometer/hydrometer is off & at the end the temperature was too low and the humidity was too high.

Also doing one egg on its own was a bad idea for a beginner, as it would have been easier if I had other eggs developing to compare with each other.

I'll count it as a learning experience & hopefully I'll have more success next time.

Thanks for your help feedman77, I really appreciate it.
