Turkey eggs and double yolks

Good evening all. I have a young friend who told me he heard on tv thal virtually ALL TURKEY EGGS ARE DOUBLE-YOLKED. I tried to explain to him that that was just wrong, that double-yolked eggs seldom hatch, that I have had turkeys years ago and their eggs were single-yolked, etc. Can you who are very experienced in the turkey egg field help me convince him? TIA.

In all the years we have raised turkeys I have never seen a double yoked turkey egg.

I'm with Sands....never seen a double yolk.

I am very new to raising birds. I have two broad breasted white turkey hens, approximately one year old. They have been laying an egg each almost every day. So far, they have laid about six very large double yolk eggs. I'm going to poke around on the forums, or post elsewhere and see if there is anything I can do so they lay less of these because it's hard on them, but they certainly do lay them. Maybe it's their weird genes.

That chicken egg next to it was effectively a jumbo. The turkey egg was 3.25" long. Only one I've seen out of maybe 150 eggs laid so far by my hens this year, so they are not common, in my experience.
