I have a young tom who recieved an eye injury two days ago during the night or early morning (pretty sure from fighting). The first day he just followed the flock around laying down whenever they stopped to eat, however now he's now eating and moving normally again. The problem is it looks like permanent damage has been done to his eye. It has a noticeable cut (the white mark pictured) and the eye has recessed pretty far into his head as compared to his normal eye. Its a little watery and sometimes gets little bubbles but doesnt seem infected. I have another hen that had a similar injury while she was very young and her eye is still resessed into her head. Can I expect the same with my younger tom? Is there anything I can do? Or should I let it run its course?

If it doesn't get infected he should be fine.. they are very resiliant over injuries.

I have 2 hens with one eye. 1 got pecked when a poults. The other got hit by a hawk. Both get along fine. The skin grew over the wound and covered the socket.

Hope he heals up and all is well
