We are having problems with our current breedings and so have decided to change Toms. I know that the hens will be fertile from the outgoing Tom for quite some time, but I don't know how long. I want to hatch out some eggs, but only from the new Tom. Anyone know for sure how long I need to wait after removing the outgoing Tom before I can start collecting eggs for the incubator? Thanks much for your help ! M.

they can stay fertile for up to a month from the last breeding. Wait 2 weeks and then put in your new tom and wait another week or so and then should be good on the eggs being the new blood, but to be 100% you would have to wait a month.

Thanks a lot. With the horrific problems we've been having, we're going to error on the side of caution and wait 6 weeks....just to be sure......Thanks for your help! M.
