My first turkeys I got on a whim, great decision honestly. Hatched these guys from blue/black mottled eggs. They are almost 13 weeks old and very friendly. Both are getting the beginning of a beard but the white one’s seems to be thicker. White also like to chase a few particular chickens, like my poor rooster who is too chicken to fight back. Black likes to sit in my lap when given the chance, it will usually lay down if petted gently on the back. I’ve seen both strut and both gobbled when an angle grinder was being used. In the photo with both it seems like they may be “practicing” as I often see the black on laying down and the white one strutting around it.

I’m putting money on white being a male and holding out hope that black is a bearded female. Can anyone tell me what color the white one is? I’m pretty sure black is just a black mottled which is fine by me but I didn’t expect to hatch a white chick from black/blue mottled eggs. But if the blue genes act the same as in chickens then I guess they are blue/black/splash?

If I have a pair like I hope, will they be mature enough to breed come spring? And if they do breed, what colors might I get if I hatch out their eggs? I’ve googled a few things to try and figure it out myself but all the results are from wild turkey studies.

First off. you don't have a white turkey. It is a Slate of some kind and has at least one Slate gene (D). I am guessing that it also has a Narragansett (n) gene.

Both appear to be toms.

You can play around with @austria89's Turkey Color Calculator if you know what the parents were.
