Turkey Hatch-A-Long

[Mrs. Fluffy Puffy]

I set 4 turkey eggs (of unknown coloration ) that I got from a friend. This if my first atempt at hatching turkeys so wish me luck! They are in the incubator with chicken, guinea, and peafowl eggs. The temp is 100 and so far so good. I might also be getting 7 Royal Palm eggs from a friend sometime this week. Who else is hatching turkeys?

I'm not yet, but Kevin Porter is hatching some for me and he said they are in the incubator now!

I wonder if he is grateful that I didn't ask for pics of the eggs as they begin their journey?

i have some hatching now. hopefully I get 10, i forget how many eggs are in the hatcher. I will have 15 to 20 eggs hitting the hatcher every week until I run out of eggs. only problem is I have 1 hen broody and she quit laying.

Lately I think I may have been insane for setting so many but it'll give me something to sell at the swaps for the rest of the year.

Well good for you! What breed did you hatch out? How many turkeys do you have, must be a pretty good amount if you hatched out 55 babies! : )

How wonderful! What kinds are you hatching? Oh, that is always fun! How many turkeys do you keep? Yep. Know all about them broodies! My Sussex are starting to go broody...again for the 2nd or third time this year! *rolls eyes*

Tell me about it! I have three Sportsmans stuffed full, and a Hova-Bator with eggs stacked two deep in it! Me, have a problem? Really? Nawww

Midget White and Standard Bronze. I keep a breeder flock of both as well as several back-up toms.

I have hatched about 30 Chocolates so far, 10 Blue Slates,10 Midget Whites, 5 Royal Palms.....I have sold most of their eggs.

I have about 80 more in the incubators and another 30 (so far) waiting to go in. And I will keep hatching until they are done laying. I dont let mine hatch their own.

I also have 10 Rio Grande poults and I am waiting on 25 from Porters including some Sweetgrass

My incubators are taken over with turkey, guinea = 140 eggs and Silkie/Showgirls.
