Turkey Hen acting oddly... now with photos

Wow, this one is a tough one to call. Sorry to hear about your misfortunes with you turkeys. Out of all of the birds that I have, I have to say that my turkeys are my favorite. I love turkeys. Just keep her isolated and quarantied from the rest until we can find a solution to what is wrong with her.

She was vaccinated for Mareks and Cocci at the hatchery we got her from.

My hubby is going to give her a month to see if she'll perk up.
We are aising these bird as thanksgiving and christmas dinner... and have customers who wanted Natural/organic/ free range birds... so if we give her antibioctics... she is no longer any of those. (although i tried to explain to hubby that since she was vaccinated at hatching she never started out as natural either, but he disagrees)

My thoughts are this... if she was contagious.. other bird would have started to show signs of sickness as well.. and so far NOTHING.

I'm totally stumped. I have a book on raising turkeys and different dieases they can get and nothing of the ones listed in the book fit what is going on with her.

I don't know what's wrong with her, but I did want to mention that the cocci vaccine is only effective against some strains. So, you may still be facing cocci even though she was vaccinated.

That's a quandry about balancing the natural antibiotic-free v/s theraputic medications. Personally, I think treating a specific illness is ok. It's the preventative use of antibiotics that I don't like. You can't really explain that to your customers, though. Good luck.
