Turkey Hen Behavior with Eggs

Does anyone know why my hen (who has been setting for 2 weeks) would decide to eat one of her eggs? She has access to food and water.

She needs oyster shells. Her eggs must be soft or something... idk i need more info

Haven't had that happen as far as I know. If you find out for real let us all know

Well I talked to my neighbor (he been dealing with turkeys a lot longer than me; he stated that they can tell when an egg goes bad and will eat it so it doesn't contaminate the rest of the nest or worse yet rot and explode (yuck)!!! What does everyone think?

I have heard that too, but I have heard of them rolling out of the nest not eating them.
