Turkey just hatched!! Still connected to the shell

our 1st turkey hatched about 3 hours ago but the poor thing is still attached to its shell and dragging it around. Is this normal?

Not particularly 'normal' but it does happen. It will dry up and break loose or you can cut it loose if there isn't a blood vessel connected to it. If you choose to cut it, make sure you don't cut it too close to its navel.
