Hi I have a sick turkey who is not eatting. What are some things I can tempt her with? On the vet's recommendation I got some molasses to mix in her feed. What about wet cat food? Or any other suggestions

Welcome to BYC! :frow

What is her age and normal feed? Are you in the US?

Molasses can cause diarrhea.. did the vet give a specified amount.. or reason to add it?? Did the vet see her or run a fecal float?

What other birds is your turkey housed with? And hos long has this been going on? What are her other behaviors... Is she lethargic, staying on a nest, or how does her behavior differ from normal other than not being interested in eating?

I would suggest doing a crop function test... see if it's completely empty first thing in the morning before food and water.. and squishy, hard, full, or empty... right now or before roost for comparison to the morning.

:fl

ETA: @R2elk, tia for any insight!

Sorry I should have specified. She is getting treatment for blackhead. She was originally housed with chickens and she is in the house now and will be house separately if she gets better. The vet also gave her a vitamin b shot but suggested just a little bit of molasses added to the food to get her interested in it

My turkey that was accident prone and I took him out of the flock to stay in the house while he mended .. He didn't want to eat but when we placed a mirror in front of him and his food bowl.. "guess" he thought it was another turkey and that got him eating...
