We have turkeys on our farm this year but we're a little nervous about dispatching them. We went through chickens no problem and with ducks the plucking got so frustrating before we had a plucker we would just skin them but now the plucker does 80% of it and we're not sure if that will be the same for turkeys. Anything we need to know ahead of time? Any good tools for the task? Should I put them in our regular drum plucker or get a drill bit plucker to use on them by hand, or am i better off just tearing out feathers? Anyone know any good learning resources or tips?
Is there anything else about butchering and storing turkey that I would need to know that's different from chickens and ducks?

I have a yardbird and heritage turkey. I have done a 17 lb dressed but had to pull long wing and tail feathers, cut off feet and neck. Still have to stop and unjam the bird and flip.
They are easier to pluck by hand than a heritage chicken.
