OK, poult A is 4.5 weeks old, poults B and C are 3.5 weeks old. Poult C is MUCH smaller than B he looks almost 2 weeks behind B. Any idea what the problem could be? They were on meat bird starter up until now but the feed store is out so today we've started them on gamebird starter. Only problem I've noticed between them is C used to hold his feathers as if he were a tom and the other two kept pulling at the outer feathers so now he's got them tucked up again like a hen, and they haven't bothered him since. Other than that they get along fine and they all eat and drink well.

Also, A and B have each pecked one of their feet so there's an open sore. A has left hers alone for a while so it's healing but B is still pecking hers. I've been taking them out to wash it off and put ointment on it every once in a while. I don't see any problems with their feet except for the sore they made.

Also anyone know what breed they are? I've guessed bourbon red but I'd like to be sure.

The look exactly like my bourbon reds... that A is a real beefy guy huh? I tend to take the opinion that if it runs around, poops, eats, pees (if applicable) and doesn't look totally miserable, and funny things aren't coming out of any orifices, that it's all going to be okay. Maybe it's just going to be a small turkey? Do you have enough room for them? Is it the right temp? Is there an area they can get out of the heat if they want to? I don't think they like their food switched up.. my 3 year old gave my poults a handful of chick starter, and they all got some bloody poo now.. but are acting fine, so I'm not real worried. They are super cute though! hope someone else knows more!

I mixed the meat bird feed and gamebird the last 2 days to switch them, they don't seem to be having any problem with it. I don't have a heat lamp on them anymore because it's nice in the house and they didn't seem to care about the lamp anymore. They're in a 30 gallon tub now, I'll switch them to a 50 gallon as soon as the ducks are done with theirs. They seem to have plenty of room, they act fine. We let them run around the house every now and then too. (yea we're weird) We've been moving the brooders to the back porch during the day to allow my nose a rest from the stink and to acclimate them to the weather.

We have a BBB tom the same age as A and he's about 4x her size now. (he's in his own brooder) Hubby is always allowing him to roam around the house because he loves that he follows him everywhere. Which reminds me I need to make a duck diaper today because the kids and hubby want to let the ducklings run around and they make too much of a poopy mess to allow it. lol

I had a runt like C one time named sharpy because I marked her with a sharpy marker so I could give her extra attention. I boiled eggs and gave them lettuce and always made sure sharpy got a little extra. She turned out to be a very good hen and raised lots of poults.
