I have a 3 week old (I think?) turkey poult and I'm concerned! They keep their neck tucked in, and the few times they've stretched it they start doing this gagging/swallowing movement? I tried giving them water, but that didn't help. Their crop is full, and they're sleeping standing up. I just lost one poult so I'm a bit anxious about this one! (Sorry for the dirty hands, I was gardening)

They will raise their heads up, open their mouth and swallow to adjust the crop content. It's normal.

Are you providing extra heat? They may want a small roost to rest on.

They're still under a lamp and yes they have roosts! Thank you, I'm new to turkeys so I wasn't sure what to look out for!

When I was brooding my first batch of poults I got a bit worried when two of them started to sneeze constantly. Turned out they were little toms making the display noise that can sound like a sneeze. They started displaying at 8 weeks. Turkeys sure are a different type of bird. :)
