Ok so turkey poults (ive learned) have a very distinctive peep. Usually mine does 3 in a row...

peep peep peep

peep peep peep

IT WILL NOT SHUT UP

its with another turkey and about 5 chicks. It paces the cage. They have plenty of food and water.

What does it want? I feel soooo bad. It crys everyday

Oh, I feel your pain. These are our first turkeys and they drive me nuts! They have everything they need and still peep all day. On top of the peeping, they make the biggest messes, I have to clean their area almost daily because they somehow get water EVERYWHERE! And, no, I am not going to hold them, I don't want to get attached because they will be Thanksgiving dinner.

no big deal, i thought i didnt have enough coffee this morning... LOL

If it helps, my 3 BBB poults (now almost 3 wks old) stopped doing the ascending peep-peep-PEEP thing at about 10 days of age. (And yes, it was very annoying, esp. when they were still living in the basement) They now only do it very rarely, if scared.

They have acquired a new noise though, sort of an ascending "wheeshtt?" that seems to indicate food or other interesting ground-level peckable things.

My gosh turkey poults are CUTE, how come nobody ever told me? They may not be supergeniuses, but they are *much* more interested in exploring the world around them than chicken chicks are. I have a feeling I'll be getting a bunch of heritage-breed poults next year...

Good luck,

If we told everyone, there wouldn't be any turkey poults left for us addicts!

I'm dying, it's killing me... I swear.... I must have them! It's worse than the chicken addiction, times a bajillion!

SO they get better with age? They are cute with their big doe eyes but I can't get past the peeping and messes and evertime I try to get them out of their cage they want to fly. I'm really glad this is DH's thing!
