Anyone out their raising their turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas? Is so, how is it going?

I have two bronze birds at my parents home and I saw them for the first time in about 6 weeks last night. Man have they grown, they actually could be processed now and provide a great meal for about 8-10 people. They weight about 14 pounds.

By the way my dad agreed to raise this years birds as the two I bought last spring are still walking around my place as my SO made pets out of them and named them. My fault, I should have know if I had only two and they were raised seperated (away from the chickens) she would make pets out of them.
She did it with pig about 3 years ago also that I just had to sell and she warned me that if I came home with pork in plain white paper she wasn't eating it.

I've got five of them, two i'm hoping to keep for breeding purposes, but the other three are invited to dinner! They are only about a month and a half old right now, but I figure by the time T-Day gets here they should be just about right! Of course the ones destined for the table have no names. The other two are Albert and Gloria. I just hope that they fit thier names! Otherwise Gloria will be traded off for one of the appropriate sex! (I could never get rid of Albert! Even if "he" turns out to be Alberta)

Cricket, LOL.

The two we have that basically control the place are named Lucy and Ethel, they are both hens.

They come to the back door and peck on the glass when they think they deserve some type of treat and Lucy flies up onto the deck and she leaves one foot on the deck and puts on foot on the kitched window sill and looks in and watches as we cook or do dishes, it's hilarious.

These two are like dogs they follow us every place and are very happy to hang on the patio when we are sitting outside, but we have to be very carefull if we decide to eat outside on a nice evening or we are likely to end up with a turkey foot in our corn.
