Turkey Question

Oh I do have a dont mess with me stance and he still comes at you, I have tried to move him with a shovel, t-fence post, sticks, etc and nothing has phased him.

Right now I need another person with me so I can feed him, One on the outside to get his attention and then I go and drop the outside door so I can get to the water and feeder.

Now you guys are scaring me. I was considering (my DH rather) getting some turkeys but I really don't want the extra attitudes going on. I have one BO roo and we have an understanding. I also have 4 ducklings (don't know the gender of those, 3wks old) and my DD wants geese. Wont it be like trying to manage a juvenile detention center??

wanted to add that they will be free ranging. I have lots of space. Just not sure of the housing yet.

hee hee hee its more like managing a kindergarten class full of monkeys... sheesh.... but really the benefits outweigh the danger!

countryboy - yesterday was a full on assault! i had to grab one of the hens and when our tom, TurkZilla came for me it took both the dogs to keep him off my while i ran! poor TZ... one of the dogs got a mouthful of feathers and he still kept coming. again we thought - easy plucking.. humm.. that ol' TZ isnt making much of a case for himself! we actually found that an old mop is kind of scary for him.

we've heard some other folks say that they will relax when the breeding season is over.

and yay for geese!
