I have to find a better way that this only because, although I have an acre and a half, it is desert, LOTS of desert, and very few plants and no grass, so I will be fermenting my feed, as I do with my chickens.Skip, I have mobile enclosure that I drag around the pasture where they spend the night and during the day when I'm at work. I let them out on "supervised free-range" when I'm home (mostly to keep them from wondering off to the neighbors or up to our home. They will readily follow me back into the enclosure in the evening...but left to themselves they will find somewhere else to roost for the night.
I wouldn't mind free ranging them for several hours in the afternoon, but I want to be sure that I can get them back to the enclosure at dark, or a little earlier.
