Turkey treats?

I am feeding them laying crumbles. I think I am going back to Purina flock raiser. Does anyone know if the Flock Raiser is good for my laying hens? It is much easier buying one type of feed for both the chickens and turkeys.

I said the plants - the tomato and potatos themselves are fine. Ours love fresh tomato's !when I go out to "graze" in the garden I'll eat about 1/2 a tomato and toss the other 1/2 to the turkeys. It's a feeding frenzy. Sharon says I shouldn't do that though... they might get sick eating after me.

and I feel better because I planted cherry tomatoes just for the chickens and turkeys.

Maybe the feed is not providing enough nutrition. Are you also providing them with grit? Why don't you try some turkey feed and see if that helps. Also, I buy huge sacks of Black Oil Sunflower seeds and they love that. (not regular Sunflower seeds, these are smaller and they can just eat it, shell and all). It's good for them. Mine also eat tons of grass because they forage around the farm all day. If they are penned up without grass, and I put a handful in their pen they gobble it down like mad.

i have a huge lawn to mow...turkeys eating the grass really helps huh? i guess when they get bigger i will see the difference. i told my fiance that was one of the reason i wanted turkeys...because they will help mow the lawn...and fertilize it organically.
