Please explain what a turkey tutor is?

Some people feel the need to put a chicken in with their newly hatched poults as a "tutor" to teach the poults how to eat and drink.

I don't do this. Poults instinctively peck at things on the ground. I use sand as bedding material in the brooder. I sprinkle turkey or game bird starter on the sand. My poults are usually eating within 15 minutes of being put in the brooder. It may take them several days to realize that the food in the feeder is also food.

I would do as @R2elk said and just sprinkle starter on ground for a few days until they figure out feeder and dip their beaks in their waterer a few times showing them what/where it is. You can also tap your fingernail on feeder and waterer to get their interest in them.
