Turkey Vultures odd behavior?

I've had predation problems with turkey vultures before.

Turkey vultures here are the true harbingers of spring. They don't show up until the spring air is truly here. Never saw them until the early to mid 1980's. Now they are common summer birds.

I had one attack my chickens last year. Dog ran him off.

I have been watching them carefully for the last week and it seems they are quite interested in my girls. As soon as I let the chickens out, about a dozen vultures show up circling and flying lower than I remember in past years.
