Turkey with crust on nostril

any ideas? My 12 year old royal palm turkey has a yellowish crust on his one nostril; it's been there awhile now and doesn't seem to be affecting him, but i feel like I should probably try and soak it and pick it off! Except he's being really nasty right now, so that won't be an easy task. Does it mean that he may have an infection? or just a nasal discharge that has hardened? Never saw it before on him.

I hope you are able to find out here soon from the turkey experts becauseI have no clue. If it was me i'd probably tackle him and take a closer look
