Crowing
Hey everyone. I have a turkey that I posted a thread about maybe like 6 months ago? Who had a big crop which was sour/ possibly pendulous. She ended up somehow getting better on her own I never treated her for it I just kinda left her and she used to eat seed (only eats all flock crumble now with oyster shell and grit on side) so back then I pulled the seeds and only allowed the crumble and gave electrolytes/ probiotics in her water a couple times a week and she eventually somehow got all better and her crop hair emptied over time and one day she had a normal small functioning crop again and was good for the last few months now, and just about a week and a half ago I noticed she got big in the crop again. Full of liquid and very squishy and hangs down low like it once did. She was eating a lot of grass in the yard (our grass is long and out of control rn) and she did have her seed still at that time cause I just switched the feed over. So I took away the seed and she’s now just eating all flock crumble as I explained earlier in this post. And I’ve been doing the water thing, same stuff as last time hoping it would slowly resolve again but so far isn’t just got bigger. She is still laying eggs very normally and regularly she actually just laid yesterday as a matter of fact and I’ll see droppings a couple times a day last night she had a nice solid one. What should I do to get this down to normal again?
I’ve also heard of the crop supporters/ bras and the website I found that makes them only makes them for chickens and smaller birds and she’s a big turkey probably about 23 or so pounds. What could I do to make her a supporter for her crop? Cause I’m not sure if I’m correct but I’m thinking she may need that if she’s pendulous and the muscle is weak to keep it functioning regularly and keep it upright? Tell me if I’m wrong, but advice and help would be nice right now.
I just recently lost her sister to an awful thing, and wanna keep this girl healthy as long as possible and all that’s wrong is this nasty crop. Thanks!
(Ps her name is ebony
