This is my first post and first time hatching turkeys. We've got 6 royal palm eggs in the incubator and today is day 28. Last night we had one pip and this morning one more. By this evening all had but none are out yet including the one from last night. At what point should we consider helping or should we leave alone. Lots of peeping going on in there! We're excited to get them out and know we should leave alone but at what point is too long for them to arrive? Thanks.

Forgot to add, temp is at 100.2 and humidity at 65%. Should we turn the temp down a little once they hatch?

i never did and had good results. birds can take up to 3 days to hatch once they've pipped. congrats on the new babies

i love turkeys, i've never had any though.

Once pipped they average is 12-24 hrs before they fully hatch, but they can take like said before up to 3 days.

You never want to help poults out cause more then likely if they can't hatch themselves they will be too weak to live for very long and if they do make it they will not be as robust as ones that hatched them selves, plus you would not want to breed a bird that you had to help out as they would be passing that gene on.

JUST WAIT !!!

today is day 28 for my 5 slate turkey eggs - i am going to do yard work all day so i keep busy and not camp out next to the bator all day!!
I can't wait - they look like little teridactyl dinosaurs when they come out ]
