I think I've had enough for the year. I don't want to see anymore poults.![]()
I wish I would have seen this last week. I think the sweetgrass are gorgeous. I settled for my second choice, Bourbon Reds. But I'm happy with The BR's because they are the tastiest of all heritage breed turkeys. In case anyone is looking for hatching eggs, I have Bourbon Reds and Sweetgrass available now. They are laying great, finally!!Now what to do with all the extras-- spread the passion for cuties!! If interested send me a PM.![]()
This will be my first heritage breed turkeys. I've raised Broad Breasted Bronze. Process a 40 lb. bird in 18 weeks. But I want turkeys I can breed and get a self sustaining flock that will supply us in meat for years to come. I chose the Bourbon Reds because from all my studies they are the tastiest of the large heritage breed turkeys. The midget whites are the winners of taste tests over all, I also want a pretty bird. I like the sweet grass first for looks, BR's second. I could not find sweetgrass in the area. I've been finding BR's pretty easy here lately. So That's what I'm raising.Tooo cute. I am looking forward to getting some of my own breeding turkeys later this year. Once DH and I settle on a breed. We both want meaty birds, but we would like them to be able to breed on their own.
