I just wanted to add that all your turkeys/poult pictures are so beautiful. I love looking at the pictures. I'm going to have to say that I'm kind of hooked on turkeys, and yes I still find them somewhat useless (lol) but they have so much personality. I just bought 2 slate gray 2 week old poults and would like to find another pair. Not sure what though. Yesterday I sold 4 and it was hard to say good bye. This woman had raised turkeys before. Turkeys don't seem to be big around here. I bred a Bronze tom with a royal Palm hen and the colors of the 3 month old poults are amazing. They were born yellow or whitish and as they are getting older browns, tans and blacks are coming into the whites. so pretty. If it will stop raining tomorrow, I'll try to take pictures. Does anyone else think that turkeys are not smart enough to come in out of the rain? lol

I had a bronze hen get attacked by something and she can't walk. I can see the meat on her leg up high but that's it, I've been putting blu cote on it for 3 weeks then started putting vetricyn on it this week the swelling went down. Is there anything else I can do for her

Some wonds are big enough to need enough time to heal. SOme wounds benfit from a wetting via a salve like bacitracin as a petroleum jelly base, or just use petroleum jelly. ALso consider what the bird is eating-- proved extra greens and proteins. Sounds like she is starting to heal up if the swelling is going down. Good luck.

One of my silkie roosters mothering a few poults who were a little chilly in the evening air

the poults know where to go to get warmth and snuggles without any fear of getting pecked, my silkies are so mellow and sweet.
