I was incubating 8 Royal Palm X Bourbon Red eggs. Yesterday was day 28. In the morning, cracks had appeared on two eggs. By midafternoon there were first cracks on five eggs, and I had seen seven moving. But the early cracks had not progressed. I was beginning to despair when I hadn't seen much movement for hours except for one egg. But arounf 5, one fionally started working the shell pretty good and voila, a turkey appeared.

When I went to bed, I had two turkeys and one working the shell.

Pips woke me up at 430, and there were 5 poults in the incubator.

At 630, there were 6 poults, and one starting to work.

When I left for work at 8, I had 7 poults

The eigth egg had died.

I was hoping to get 5, and would have been satisfied with three since this was my first try with turkeys. I am thrilled with 7!

This is my first time with turkey eggs, too. My Standard Bronze are due to go on lockdown in a week & I'm a little nervous about it.

Here, hopefully, is a pic of the poults. Ages range from 8 to 22 hrs.

Nice pic!! So darn cute all of them. I have poults arriving wed; Dh asked if all were headed to the freezer. Definitely not the time to tell him I want to keep a couple hens for breeding.

Good job incubating!
