I kept 6 Turkey hens back last year to make sure I got enough eggs.
Houston, I have a (good) problem. Now I've got tons of eggs!
Out of 17, 16 were fertile. 16 just finished hatching! I have Royal Palm, Black Spanish, and a Red Bourbon. All heritage breeds that aren't seperated, so I have some very interesting colors!
I have 24 more eggs due in 2 weeks. Some turkeys are sitting on eggs and some are still laying everyday!
And the eggs still in the incubator!
Since they are my eggs and I can afford to experiment: I incubated these at 20-25% humidity during incubating and 70% at hatch. At 100 degrees.
No problems, no assists. They came a little earlier than I thought but they are healthy happy poults!
