Turning a garden shed into a duck house (I did it - I cut it up)

I'm sorry I missed this.

For the water area; We took a plastic storage tub.
Get the cheapest, it is not going to be put though hard work so you can get a cheap one with a crappy lid (you will not use the lid) Get the biggest one you can find and cut the sides down to about a 1/2 a foot to a foot off of the ground.
Mine is about a foot and a half wide by about 3 feet long (around 1 foot tall – now

I already had a big tub that had a break in the top so it cost me nothing....

We then made a screen table to go over it:
Made Legs (using 2 x 4) that were just a tad bit taller then the sides of the box and then framed out the top boards (using 1 x 4) tacked the screen sown and then layered another set of 1 x 4 over the screen (to protect from the scratchy cut screen)


To clean it I just pull the screen table off of it and just dump the water out in the yard, I rinse it if there is a lot of food and poop that has fallen in it.

I swear this is the best thing ever - keeps the house CLEAN.

I clean the "coop" out maybe once a week. When I do I toss out less then a 5 gal bucket of soiled bedding.

That is a great idea, I was trying to figure out how you emptied it. Thanks so much for the info.
