Turning a large water tank into a chook coop?

Do you have welding equipment and skills. Not sure if galvanized can be welded? Assuming tank is galvanized.



Yeah, but, I, and many others, CRS and not going to scroll back thru the whole thread why it's good to put it in profile.

I think its galvanized, not sure. will check in the morning. I think I have a welder, I have no skills so I'll be doing the measurements and my brother will be doing all the cutting and what not . I gotta go to bed now, I spent way too long on here! post your ideas and advice for me to read in the morning guys!

they'll be in a large paddock all day. I plan on putting in windows, but wouldn't roof ventilation let the rain in?

put it just to the upper edge not on the roof there can be shields put on to keep the rain out

I'll throw it out there.... what about leaving it on it's side and making it like a hoop coop? Then no roof structure needs to be built. Cut a door for entry in the flat end.

Here's an idea. Just leave more open for ventilation, have a door, etc.
