Turning eggs

so that means that people them right? i knew was old, my dads friend who let us use it already mentioned that, or my dad did, one of them mentioned it =^-^=. but is there anything else about it that i might need to know, any advice on using it?

Oh, cool!

I've never used a model like that, but if it were me, I'd want to do something about the floor, likely replaceing it or covering it with something else. Reason being, it looks like it is wood/compression board, and once that gets newly hatched chick on it, it's going to be hard to sanitize. Second, it looks really slick, which can cause splay leg in chicks.

yeah, we were thinking of putting some hardware cloth down in it so that there would be something their little feetsies can use for a little bit of traction and there's not much we can do about the floor itself as anything permanent because its borrowed from one of my dads friends, unfortunately, if it was ours then there'd be a ton more possibilities

Maybe look into fleece? With a lot of other small animals it's considered safe because it doesn't have the same thread issues of other fabrics. Machine washable, doesn't cause a permanent change to your borrowed item, and I *think* should provide enough purchase, though if you're worried, you can layer the hardware cloth over it and just use it as a buffer.

I use the rubber shelf liner in mine. It gives them grip, doesn't interfere with humidity, easy to clean out. Best part is I get it from the dollar store, so it's cheap.
