Turning shed into coop

Thanks it seems to be some kind of thick plastic. It is holding together pretty well when we cut into it though. I am hoping to start working on the roost and dropping pan area next weekend. Then pressure wash and paint! we are really excited! Thank you for the advice!
When you say “dropping pan” are you referring to a poop board?

Lots of ventilation.

X2 - especially here in NC!!

I don't do well with cutting into existing or building square/framed out buildings, so we stuck with open air hooped type CP coops and roofed the 4 existing square pens in hooped CP as well. Just so much easier for me - especially with working alone. Building a series of easy, a-frame tractors now... for 3-5 bird breeding groups.

How are you building your run? I always enjoy watching/seeing that.

How many birds and what types/breeds/varieties are you looking to get? From a local breeder (there are a few) or from hatchery?

& WELCOME to BYC!!

We live about 1.5 hours south and west of you (between Southern Pines & Ft Bragg).

Thanks!! I have 11 hens. A mixed flock. Luckily the shed was more plastic than anything else so sawing through wasn't so hard. We still have a lot more work to do before completely done.
Thanks for the welcome and glad to talk to another NC stater.

Update: still more work and ventilation to add before summer and the roost. So far painted the outside and added the run.
