Turtle Rescue?

Often times they will fit them with a fiberglass prosthetic shell either permanently or temporary depending on the condition of the shell. The New England Aquarium does that for sea turtles on a regular basis and have great success.

You know those turtles, they can dart out in front of you at any time. Seriously though, here they have signs posted along the roads going out to the salt marshes and people still run over the Terrapins and these are large turtles. I know boneheads run over them on purpose. We have known since we were kids the best time to catch turtles crossing the dams on the cranberry bogs is after a good thunder storm. I have found Box, Painted, and others who had damage to their shells and managed to heal and go about the business of living. Now Toads after a spring rain, that's a whole 'nother story.
