I'm happy it's not gapeworm, phew!
I saw the youtube video...my hens do that when there's tiny gnats bothering them. We have sand gnats during spring and fall that bite and suck blood...they go after people as well...we call them "no seeums" and "flying teeth." Is this a possibility with yours? Running out of options with your chickens problem. Good luck.

Ok I didn't know what a gnat was. it looks the same as our no see-ems. yeah they are an annoying pest but they don't stick around for the winter....
I'm out of ideas, whatever it is, they only do that when they are in the coop. they are fine when they are outside. is it possible it's too dusty??? kindof a stupid question but I guess I can't rule it out
I looked everywhere, on their butts, under their wings, in their ears, on their stomach's, on the roost, in the shavings and on the walls. no little red bugs...
is it normal for them to do this or should I accept that this is the way they will be? is it safe for me to sell off my hens to another flock?
