Twin Chicks Double yolk

GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS!

I was out helping my sister and the kiddos pack for their move and the double piped! My husband called me frantically asking of he should help. The larger chick was hogging the air cell but the smaller one could poke its beak out but still was not able to breath! Ofcourse at this point I'm nervous. I'm 2 hours away and can't physically help. I talk my husband through expanding the hole without hurting the chicks. He said he was shaking. Poor guy. I was able to make it home 3 hours later to find the larger out but the little one was in the shell motionless with an open navel.

I left it in thinking it had died but didn't want to disturb the others still hatching.

I came back later to find an empty shell!

Good news is that it finally worked.

Bad news is that I didn't get any good pictures but I will post what I have soon

Awesome! You may be one of the first to ever have a natural hatching double! I wonder if they will look alike as the grow up!

For the most part yes. They still made the initial pip on their own and you did not entirely pick them out.

I suppose that's true. I'm still not sure how the little one didn't suffocate
