Twin duck eggs

I want to thank all of you for the support love and prayers
I did everything I knew how to do and although I got them this far I still failed them in the end
Blizzard and ice have both passed as well
Blizzard was so close to being ready it really breaks me as she talked to me and was breathing
But when I went to check again I saw she was hardly breathing
I tried ti open more shell to give her room to breath and I could see she didn’t have much yolk left. I tried ti save her but I was a few mins to late
Ice did break the membrane but never got the shell so I had no idea where to find it’s beak
I think it died previously as it had a huge yolk left
I have learned a lot on this journey
Getting them to hatch was easy. Having the smaller air cell did help but I think even smaller would have been better
All 4 babies fully developed and nobody was tangled around each other
But at hatch time it’s almost impossible to know when to help without knowing exactly where the beaks are
I believe with the small yolk blizzard had she had got through the membrane abc was in the air cell as she had to be absorbing and breathing for it to be down
I took a risk opening them but it was one I had to try
I will never do twins again as it’s to hard at hatch to get it right to save them but I don’t regret trying and learning from this experience
Rip my special little ones
So sorry you lost these babies too. :hugs You gave it a good try and did your best to save them.

You didnt "fail" them. You did the best you could and those babies couldnt have been in better hands. There's only so much we can do, we're only humans and we can't work miracles. Although you lost them, Im sure you, and everyone else on this thread has learned a lot along the way... maybe some of that knowledge can be used to save future chicks and ducklings.
I know it hurts to lose them, but I hope you feel better really soon. :hugs
RIP little ones

So so super sorry 😞

Good morning
Day 23 update
Egg #2 is still the same other then a little more air cell drop I still see shadowing along the under part of the air cell the egg is much darker and can’t see in much other then a tiny bit around the air cell where it drops forward. Still see veins in there
Egg 1 I now see shadowing along the air cell and it’s starting to grow bigger now
The egg is getting darker so babies are growing
I’m not able at this stage to say that I see all 4 moving as I can only see around the air cell a little. The rest of the eggs are dark but they smell good and eggs are going as they should
I do expect to see internal pip or bruising from egg 2 in the next 48 hours as once you see rocking and shadowing it’s usually 24-72 hours
We are past 24 now
Egg 2 has just started so a day behind our other egg
No matter the outcome I will update this post as we can only learn by knowing the end results
So far I’m not concerned but definitely nervous for the next few days ahead
It’s out of my hands right now as I can’t do anything else to help until I see a bruise or an internal pip
Please Keep the prayers and support for our little ones as they make this hard journey :)
have been silently following. Come on lil babies!

The yolks were normal size
These babies would have just been on the start of hatch
Missing the air cell would mean 48-72 hours before hatch giving them time to absorb
I have hatched a baby that bruised the wrong end and I made a safety hole in the bruise and it took 52 more hours for her to hatch
They ran out of air
All they needed was a safety hole in the bruise
Not their fault it was mine
so sorry. You are doing amazing. Prayers for Egg2 and hugs to you!
